New Tunes Coming Soon... - Apr. 19, '08
After a long, cold Montreal winter of writing new songs and playing the odd show whenever we managed to dig out from under the snow, Sonic Avenues are happy to announce that spring is in the air, and a follow-up release to the band's debut EP is now in the works! The early tracks recorded in studio in March are sounding awesome, with more dirt, more loud guitars, and more in-your-face tunes than you can shake a pogo at. Release details are being finalized, so keep your ear to the ground for more info as it becomes available. In the meantime, you can check out the new material at any of a number of big live shows slated for the summer months!

Sonic Avenues hail from Montreal, Canada. Formed in 2006, their independently produced, self-titled debut EP was released by Montreal's Ricochet Sound (also home to garage-punk legends 'The Gruesomes') in Summer 2007.

Showcasing the band's 60's punk, garage rock and 70's powerpop influences, the release drew significant attention from college radio, helping it to break the Canadian College Top 50 chart in September 2007, and peak as high as #2 at CIUT in Toronto (Canada's largest college radio station). Widespread touring on the release also earned the band some high-profile supporters south of the border, including Terri T and Joe Belock of WFMU in NYC, as well as representatives of Little Steven's Underground Garage.

The band is currently working towards a follow-up release, slated for the summer of 2008.
